AN INTEGRATED FRAMEWORK FOR PROJECT MANAGEMENT SUCCESS FACTORS

Abstract


In this study we attempt to answer two questions: "What are the major factors and sub-factors that mainly affect project management?" and "What are the relationships among these factors?" An integrated framework was proposed to assess project management success factors in developing countries. This framework discussed the most and the least important factors affecting project management. The framework was applied on a sample of 182 projects using a questionnaire consists of 7 categories; 11 sub-factors each. The results show that for all projects; Size, Duration and Value of the project is the most important factor, whereas in large and medium projects; Value of the project are the most important factors, in small projects; Economic environment and budget management are the most important factors, in civil projects; Size, Duration and Value are the most important factors and in Electro-Mech. projects; Economic environment and budget management are the most important factors
